Summer Camp Dates: June 22nd – July 31st, 2026
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday
Shift Times: 7:30 am – 9:00 am (Morning Pick-up) and 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm (Afternoon Drop-off)

The K-5 Little Warriors Summer Camp Program is designed to empower students to embrace
their genius, establish a sense of community, and explore learning activities that enhance their
health and well-being. As a Van Driver, you are the crucial first and last point of contact for our
campers each day. This role will ensure our students are transported safely, punctually, and
with a positive attitude that sets the tone for a great day at camp.
Job Responsibilities:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an
employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit for
extended periods while driving, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to use
hands and feet to operate vehicle controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand,
walk, and reach with hands and arms to assist students in and out of the vehicle. The employee
must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds (e.g., student backpacks or camp supplies).
Specific vision abilities required include excellent close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision,
depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment
(inside the van with campers) is usually moderate to loud.

- Hiring: Dependent on FBI, Child Abuse, Criminal Background check, and mandated reporter training (provided by the organization).
- Driving Record: Clean driving record and valid PA driver’s license required.
- Work Schedule: Must be able to work the summer camp five days a week.

- Safe Transportation: Safely operate the van to transport K-5 elementary students to and from designated camp sites.
- Attendance & Tracking: Manage and track student attendance during loading and unloading using camp pick-up and drop-off.
- Behavior Management: Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive environment inside the van; manage student behavior during transit and escalate behavioral incidents to the Program Manager or Site Supervisor as needed.
- Safety Inspections: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (checking fluids, tires, brakes, and cleanliness) to ensure the vehicle meets strict health and safety standards.
- Family Communication: Serve as a friendly and professional point of contact for parents and guardians during morning pick-ups and afternoon drop-offs.
- Incident Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation regarding vehicle maintenance, mileage logs, and student incident reports.
- Team Collaboration: Attend mandatory staff training, safety meetings, and daily briefings assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid PA Driver’s License with a clean driving record (no major violations).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable communicating with elementary school students and their families.
- Ability to troubleshoot routing issues and problem-solve safely while on the road.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
